To ensure our systems stay up-to-date with the newest features and changes to Facebook and Instagram APIs, we occasionally need to upgrade the processes used to connect creator and business pages between the platforms. This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to connect your Facebook and Instagram pages using the latest approved methods.
Before you can connect…
The most important things to know
- You can’t connect a Facebook profile to Atisfyre, you can only connect a Facebook page
- The Facebook profile you are using to connect the Facebook page must own or manage that page, else you will receive the error below and won’t be able to proceed:
Navigate to the Account Manager page, where you will get four social media platform options. Underneath Facebook, click on “Connect” and you’ll be shown a pop-up that tells you a little bit more about how to connect your Page.
According to a recent mandate, going forward Facebook now requires users to grant business_management access to apps to access their Facebook Pages.
Follow the below steps to connect your FB page. If you face any error, kindly refer to this article.
Case 1: When there is no Instagram account connected to Atisfyre already
Case 2: When there is already an Instagram account connected
Case 1: When there is no Instagram account connected to Atisfyre already
- From the “Account Manager” section of Atisfyre, click on “CONNECT” button of the Facebook section.
- Now you will see a screen with the heading “Connect your Facebook Account”, go through the instructions thoroughly, and once done, click on “I UNDERSTAND”.
- Now, you will see the following popup, click on “Edit Access” (as pointed out by the arrow)
- Review the requested permissions, here you need to do the below (in the screenshots - we tried to connect a page “The Incredible AI”)
- Toggle on “Access your Page and App insights”
- Toggle on everything under “Manage your business”
- Toggle on your page under “Read content posted on the Page”
- Toggle on your page under “Manage accounts, settings and webhooks for a Page”
- Toggle on your page under “Read user content on your Page”
- Toggle on your page under “Show a list of the Pages you manage”
- Once the above action is complete, click on the X (top right corner).
- Click “Continue as [Your Facebook Username]” to complete the connection.
Case 2: When there is already an Instagram account connected
Note: If your Facebook account has only one Facebook page that is linked to an Instagram account, in that case, that Facebook page will be automatically connected to Atisfyre when you click on the “CONNECT” button and sign in to that same fb user account.
- From the “Account Manager” section of Atisfyre, click on the “CONNECT” button of the Facebook section.
- Now you will see a screen with the heading “Connect your Facebook Account”, go through the instructions thoroughly, and once done, click on “I UNDERSTAND”.
- Now, you will see the following popup, click on “Edit Access” (as pointed out by the arrow)
- Make sure all the pages are selected as shown below and click on the X button
- Click “Continue as [Your Facebook Username]” to complete the connection.
- You are now successfully connected to a Facebook page that is also linked to your connected Instagram account.
Please note that in all cases you are not required to authorize write access for Atisfyre and that we will not post to any of your social media accounts for you. If you wish to disconnect any of these accounts, you will also face a reduction in FyrePower. More on that here.
